Spend a little time doing a little research on your health insurance benefits. If both you and your spouse have health benefits, get the information on what’s covered and some sticky notes and make a comparison of what is covered by all plans.
You can coordinate your benefits to minimize your coverage and often have 100% coverage for services like dental, pill prescriptions and vision care. If you haven’t done this before, call your benefits provider and they will walk you through the procedure. Generally, you would submit a claim for yourself to your own benefit provider first, and then after the claim’s been paid, submit the balance to your spouse’s provider.
It’s also a good time to review your benefits and figure out if you need additional coverage, and what you can get at what extra cost. It’s possible that you can save money by paying a little extra in fees to save expenses you’re currently paying out of pocket. Good luck in your research! It’s worth spending a little time to save a little money!
